Year in review: a big 2020 for Signature Properties Mudgee

It’s been a BIG year for Signature Properties Mudgee.

Like many small businesses in the Central West, 2020 has had its challenges – bushfires, drought, the COVID-19 pandemic; all these events created a tough climate for real estate and forced us to look at how we do things and adjust. We’ve focused more than ever on virtual tours, Facetime meetings and digital paperwork, and enjoyed finding new ways to promote our properties.

Despite the difficult conditions, 2020 has been a successful year for Signature Properties Mudgee. We met our five-year operational goal in June, celebrating half a decade in business and our continual growth. Since opening the agency in 2015, we’ve established a solid rent roll (from nothing!) and continued to attract new business, mainly from referrals and word-of-mouth. To our wonderful clients and tenants who have recommended us to their family and friends, we say thank you. Without you, we would not have been able to expand our rent roll, secure top properties and tenants, and continue to grow our operations.

This year, it’s been our absolute pleasure to be recognised by the real estate industry for our efforts. We were named as finalists for property manager of the year in the 2020 NSW Real Estate Institute Awards and the Real Estate Business (REB) Women in Real Estate Awards. The REB award winners will be announced on December 10, and whatever the outcome, the nomination alone is outstanding recognition of our hard work and dedication to our clients and the industry.

We’ve also invested heavily in marketing this year – to great success! 2020 saw the unveiling of our new-look website – a much-needed update of our site, with a new online booking platform, tenant registry and imagery, courtesy of the talented Jenna Kensey. We’ve gone completely digital with our operations, implementing paperless condition reports, lease sign-ups and renewals, and inspection information. It’s been a great time-saver (and paper saver!) for the business, significantly reducing our admin costs. We invested in a new, large-scale out-of-home sign between Mudgee and Gulgong, which has attracted much attention and new business. Our social media channels have continued to grow – we hit 1000 followers on our Instagram account this year, a fantastic milestone! A huge thanks to our marketing manager Emma Spillett from ES Publicity and Events for her efforts. We’ve got some other new initiatives to unveil in 2021 – we can’t wait to show you.

We’d like to take this opportunity to wish all our clients, tenants, tradespeople and the Mudgee community a happy and safe Christmas and New Year. We hope you all have a wonderful festive season, filled with joy, family and plenty of food! We look forward to working with you all in 2021 – thanks again for a truly incredible 2020!
